Going away and worried about leaving your cat or small pets at home? A familiar environment and a caring professional visitor makes all the difference. Cats are creatures of territory and routine, and being moved to a cattery can be stressful for most. Small animals like rabbits and guinea pigs also thrive on consistency and familiar surroundings. My drop-in visit service means your pets stay exactly where they’re happiest, at home, while you go away with complete peace of mind.
Serving Telford and the surrounding Shropshire villages, Beth’s Pawfect Pet Services provides a professional, veterinary nurse-led drop-in visits, not just a welfare check, but a thorough, caring visit that monitors health, provides companionship, and keeps you updated with photos and notes every single time.

Why choose a Vet Nurse for drop-in visits?
Cats and small animals are experts at hiding illness until they are seriously unwell. A standard pet sitter might refill the bowl and not notice or realise a small change in a rabbit’s appetite, or that a cat has produced no urine in 24 hours – both of which are veterinary emergencies.
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, I know what healthy looks like and what doesn’t. I’ll check food and water intake, monitor litter tray and hutch output, assess behaviour and coat condition, and act quickly if anything is concerning. Your pet gets daily professional welfare monitoring, not just company.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it better to leave my cat at home or put them in a cattery?
For most cats, staying at home is significantly less stressful than a cattery. Cats are territorial animals and their home is their safe space. Moving them to an unfamiliar environment surrounded by other cats’ scents can cause anxiety, anorexia and even illness. Home visits maintain their routine, keep them in their territory, and avoid the risk of infection from other cats. The main advantage of a cattery is 24-hour supervision, which is why having a Registered Vet Nurse visiting daily is a strong alternative.
How many visits per day does my cat need?
For most healthly adult cats, one or two visits per day is sufficient, morning and evening to maintain their routine. Kittens, elderly cats, and those with health conditions may benefit from more frequent visits. I’ll help you work out the right schedule when we have our meet and greet.
What small animals do you visit?
I visit rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, mice, chinchillas, birds, fish and other small pets. I’m happy to discuss your specific pet, if I haven’t listed them, just ask. My veterinary background means I’m comfortable around a wide range of species.
What happens if my pet is unwell while I’m away?
At your meet and greet, we will discuss your options. Often, owners choose for me to contact them or their designated emergency contact immediately. With your permission (given in advance), I’ll take your pet to your registered vet or the nearest emergency vet if out-of-hours care is needed. As a Registered Vet Nurse, I’m well placed to assess urgency, communicate with vets on your behalf, and ensure your pet gets the right care quickly.
Will you send me updates during the visit?
Yes, after every visit you’ll receive a written update and photos via email (or text if no email available), so you can see your pet is happy and comfortable. Many clients tell me these updates and knowing they are in the care of a Registered Veterinary Nurse, are the thing that lets them relax while away.
